The Sacramento Valley Veterans (SVV) participate in the City of Sacramento Veterans Day Parade. This year’s parade takes place at 10am on Sunday, November 11 at Capitol Mall.

Below are some ways you can spend your (hopefully) three-day Veterans Day Weekend in Sacramento. Enjoy!

1. Honor and remember veterans. The City of Sacramento is holding their 2nd Annual Veterans Day Parade at Capitol Mall on Sunday. (If you go, come say hi to us at our Sac365 booth!) And, also on Sunday, you can attend the Veterans Day Tribute at the Aerospace Museum.

2. Take in a little history. Learn about veterans of the Civil War at the Old City Cemetery’s Civil War Tour on Saturday. Go check out the California State Military Museum at their Veterans Day Celebration, which offers free admission & special displays on Sunday, and will be open with regular admission on Monday.

3. Save money with your military ID. The Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink offers free skating to all military personnel and veterans on Monday. The Sacramento Zoo offers half-off admission to all military personnel, veterans, and their families on Monday.

4. Listen to patriotic music. The Sacramento Youth Symphony & Academy of Music will present a free concert, titled A Salute to Our Veterans, at the Community Center Theater on Saturday. This concert is now sold out.

5. Dance, dance, dance like you don’t have to work/go to school tomorrow. Oh wait, you don’t! Both MiX Downtown and The Park Ultra Lounge are hosting Veterans Day parties this Sunday night. DJ Gabe Xavier spins at the MiX and DJ Scene holds down the fort at The Park.

As always, you can keep tabs on our Holiday Events section for all sorts of seasonal activity in the Sacramento area.
