After surviving a month of fasting from sunrise to sunset, I’m ready to indulge with a capital “I” this weekend. What better way than at the Sacramento Italian Cultural Society‘s Festa Italiana! Now in its 28th year, the two day festival celebrates the Capital City’s Italian community with music, dancing, shopping, and of course, the country’s deliciously rich cuisine. (My goal is to stuff my face with a cannoli… or two…or five.)
Not Italian? Not to worry. You don’t have to be to enjoy the festival’s fanfare. There will be a little something for everyone. For only $12 (or free if you’re under age 15), attendees can enjoy a lively Italian Marketplace, children’s games and rides, bocce ball, an Italian car and motorcycle show, and a number of musical and dance performances, including a special appearance by Dean Martin impersonator, Matt Helm.
Off the grid, the festival will be held August 2nd & 3rd at the Croatian American Cultural Center. Event hours are Saturday 11am-10pm and Sunday 11am-7pm.
