This month you can help the Sacramento Republic FC kick off their season right, bowl for the kiddos, drink a cold one for the Kings, and pop-a-wheelie on some of the coolest two-wheelers in the nation.
Love may be in the air, but a fierce competition is brewing in Sacramento as Republic FC looks to start 2016 off with a bang against a Major League Soccer opponent.
Sacramento Republic FC vs. Colorado Rapids (2/13) at Bonney Field:
The boys are back at it! Local favorites Sacramento Republic FC, return to the pitch this weekend to kick-off their 2016 campaign. Republic FC starts off the year with a friendly match against the Colorado Rapids. This match will pit the United Soccer League (Republic FC) against one of the oldest Major League Soccer teams (Rapids), a perfect battleground to show that Sacramento is #MLSReady.
Republic FC has been working hard towards its goal of reclaiming the championship (the team won the USL championship its first year). The club returns home this week from a week-long training session in Mexico that helped them get in shape and bond as a team. I’m excited to see how this training intensive will help the reformed Republic FC perform on the field. This will be my first time checking out the squad since last year’s season finale. I’m looking forward to seeing where the team is at and watching them play in their new uniforms for the first time.
While the Sacramento Republic FC’s season won’t be decided on this friendly match, a win against an MLS team could really raise the team’s confidence. Join the club as they battle with the Rapids on Bonney Field. This will also be your chance to show the Rapids what some of the best soccer fans in the country look like! And if you tell the Sacramento Republic FC what you love about Sacramento with the #SacramentoLoves hashtag by V-Day, you could win some sweet swag from the club.
Also, be sure to document your experience by using the #Sacramento365 hashtag!
