Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Sacramento

Even Old Sacramento Living History reenactors are getting into the St. Patrick’s Day Spirit. Photo by Sureena Johl.

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, (Tuesday, March 17 to be exact!) and luckily, there is no need to travel all the way to the Emerald Isle to get in the spirit. Sacramento is lucky enough to have a number of green-themed events that will bring out the Irish in all of us!

Dancers, flag pipes, and cultural organizations will take to the streets of Old Sacramento for its 19th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Fancy a Guinness…or two? 5hundy’s St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl may be the event for you. Attendees will take an epic journey through Midtown and Downtown’s favorite bars and taverns starting at 4pm. Want to take a walk on the cultural side? The Harris Center’s An Irish Hooley honors traditional Celtic song and dance with Slugger O’Toole and the Kerry Dance Troupe. The day of, fill up on corned beef, booze, and good spirits for 17 hours at L Street’s annual block party.

Learn more about these and other raucous St. Paddy’s events on Sacramento365.com’s Holiday Events page.

Whether you decide to party down or take a more family-friendly approach to the holiday, we wish you a festive and safe St. Patrick’s Day! Éirinn go Brách!
